Campbell La Pun

Campbell La Pun was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia before settling in the vibrant city of Tokyo. Inspired by the collision of eastern and western cultures, La Pun's work as an urban pop artist captures the excitement and energy of this dynamic metropolis.

La Pun draws inspiration from his surroundings, with everything from color combinations to casual conversations and even a sip of champagne providing the impetus for a new piece. The constant barrage of global advertising from high-end brands like Chanel, Supreme, and Dom Perignon, along with pop culture iconography, the city's diverse population, and its hi-tech economy, all contribute to his ideas. Using his own hand-made stencils and spray paints on wood and canvas, he transforms these inspirations into high-impact, large-scale works of art.

After earning a BA in Media Arts from RMIT University in Melbourne, La Pun established his studio in Japan and quickly gained recognition for his original ideas and distinctive style. His work has been exhibited and sold on four continents, cementing his reputation as a leading urban pop artist.
